Hello Darling

discarded half written the diary shows
carefully drawn hearts arrow pierced
doodles of a name repeatedly mentioned
in excerpts of poems tediously written

numb fingers now caress the pages
dry eyed, sad smile, heart's hardened
what made you think it was possible
for such wishes to come true for you

he was made up of mere words
created with her own romantic thoughts
born of an imaginative mind
and her compulsive urge to create

sighing she shuts the conduit
there is more to life than that
yet how she longs for that call
of long ago...

Hello Darlin'.
