High Enough

You keep taking me down a couple pegs
but baby I ain't got the longest legs
and if you keep on chopping away
there won't be anything left

I don't know what you're trying to do
or why I'm still so in love with you
but god damn, I am, like I was born to

Is the fire we're building high enough?
I can barely see you through the smoke
you say we need more, it can be bigger
I think your finger's glued to the trigger

Restless days, and stupid fights
waking up the next day
can't remember the night
but it feels like we did some damage, right?

Easy come, but not so easy to go
but all your words, sound like "I told you so"
from all my friends

Is the fire we're building high enough?
I can barely see you through the smoke
you say we need more, it can be bigger
I think your finger's glued to the trigger

I think it's high enough
I think it's high enough
I can't breathe anymore
this is out of hand for sure
I can say goodbye, but it's tough

Is the fire we're building high enough?
I can barely see you through the smoke
you say we need more, it can be bigger
I think your fingers glued to the trigger

i think it's high enough
I think it's high enough.
