The Proposal

Set in center, a red satin tablecloth sets a top in precise position,
Center piece of bright red roses set inside a crystal vase, napkins set with silverware of silver, names etched in them to mark the spots to which each would sit,like X's marking buried treasures.

Two chairs across from one another in perfect alignment.
The sun setting in the skies above the lake casting shadowy murals of light and ripples across the waters top,coloring the water with colors purple,green and blue, a beautiful setting for the evenings plans, under an old wooden gazebo on the edge of the pier.

He caresses the small square box in the jacket pocket of his brand new black suit, everything perfect, he couldn't wait to see the way the water and the sunset reflected off her eyes. Couldn't wait to take her hand in a dance leading to an endless future wrapped in each others embrace.

She steps onto the pier and freezes as her blue eyes take in the breathtaking view that surrounded her, her blue dress appeared to sparkle with the light of the sinking sun,but her eyes saw only him as her legs failed her, her knees growing weak. A love like no other, perfection in her eyes. She wanted to reach him,be wrapped in his warmth, her feet began to move closer.The click of her heals stirred him from his beautiful day dreams as he caught sight of the world, his everything.

He was captivated by her beauty, his heart skipping with the sight of her inching near, it was all he could do , he grinned and her lips formed with his. That sparkle in her eyes melted what was left of his composure. He ran to her pulling her close, leaning into the sweetest of lips, like cherries to his kiss.

He lifted her in his arms in a cradle ,carried her to the gazebo on the edge of the pier. Silent neither saying a word, only they two could hear the conversation between their souls. He set her gently in her seat, stopping to brush his lips against her flushed cheek.
He knelt beside her the remainder of drifting sunlight raising flames in his green eyes.
He took her beautiful delicate hand in his,
And spoke to her from his heart,
"Everyday with you has been beautiful, everyday falling hopelessly for you, a life without you in it I never wanna live. I'll love you to the end of the world and back, I'll love you when your grey, my love is everlasting,will never go away, when we leave this earth my love will remain still, will you marry me?Please say that you will!"

Tears formed in her eyes running in waterfalls against her silky cheeks. She pulled him close and kissed him a salty sweet kiss of cherries and sea water. When their lips parted her hand still set in his her face leaning against his, she whispered softly,
"There is nothing I want more than this."

He slipped his ring on her dainty finger and took her in his arms,
They danced into forever,
Never did they part.
