Impressions on an Impasse

But, alas, just because you are intelligent doesn’t mean you aren’t biased and bias with emotion are drivers that are just as valid and often more powerful than a straight-fact presentation. You aren’t meeting me in this argument with differing facts, but with a different interpretation of the significance of what the facts may represent.  You, my friend, are wrong in the ways that I am wrong in your perspective. We see the same picture but our angles are different, our backgrounds are different, and our priorities are different. We are both not wrong, but also both valid. So where is the overlap allowed to maintain civility while accepting that your views on this may be as important to you as mine are to me? Maybe there is weight in the points of each argument in this debate. And maybe there are pieces of my perspective that are flawed or less significant to this situation as yours?
