Forgotten Soldiers (Part 2)
(Verse)
I used to live every single day
Seeing defenceless people slaughtered/
My own men and woman abducted
And felt my moral compass becoming obstructed/
Because quitting was not accepted and
Helping was not was I was instructed to do/
So I think I need a remedy
To free me from these memories
Because all I can see is their lifeless bodies in front of me/
And every second of that motherfucking day
Keeps replaying in my eyes/
I’m sick off all these lies
And these pills ain’t shit/
Government said they’d help
But they ain’t reachin’ out one bit/
So I’m stuck here takkin’ another hit
When I should be
Over there/ over where/
The smoke screen fades
And you can see the real cost of heroism/
Cuz what cha see and hear on film is
Nothin’ but state-run journalism/
Yes, there’s truth behind it but it’s
Twisted and distorted then mass produced/
But you got so used to that
Pseudo-reality/
That you no longer see the recurring tragedy/
Of every teenage Son and Daughter
Returning from active duty/
You just parade around the country on your high horse/
Not giving a fuck about remorse
Or the course we’ll be forced to endorse when we get home/
But still we
HOOK
We fight with our lives at stake just to be
Forgotten in an instant/
Tortured by the violence
But haunted by the silence/
We believe in your lies
And live out your wickedest fantasies/
Just to be
Abused and neglected Overseas/
But still we will never regret it/
Becoming forgotten Soldiers of
Her majesty’s united dynasty/
(Verse)
I Sacrificed my life to fight and defend this country/
And to repay me you discard and label me
A menace to society/?
Say the trauma I endured is nothing but a fantasy/?
But at the same time
How it breaks your heart to see
Another Veteran get locked away in the dark/
How can you not see me
Sleeping on park benches/
Possessed by demons of the trenches
With a forty-five aimed between my eyes/?
Nah I don’t want fame or glory
I just want cha to hear my story/
And realize that our flag doesn’t fly
From the wind moving it nah/
It flies from every Soldier that died defending it/
Because the price of
Freedom isn’t free
And it’s us who has to pay
The inevitable fee/ so
Fuck these streets and
Fuck your administration
This War is your creation/!
And I refuse to be another
Statistic of your desecration
Of those who
Fight and believe in it/!
For years I faced my fears and
Stared death in the eye/
And lived every single day
Seeing defenceless people slaughtered/ and
Witnessed my own men and women get abducted
While I felt my moral compass becoming obstructed/
Because quitting was not accepted and
Helping was not what I had been instructed to do/
That’s why I’m scramin’
HOOK
We fight with our lives at stake just to be

(Verse)
Ten years later
And I still have no regrets of
Becoming a member of
Her Majesty’s united dynasty/
But if I had known this would become my reality
I might have thought differently
Because for the past six years
I answered your beckon call/
Stood beside total strangers and
Watched my
Brothers and Sisters Fall/
But now I’m living on this street corner
Stripped of my honor and
Wanting to end my fucking life/
I’m sick of this strife and
Feelin’ like a foreigner on my own soil/
Because of the turmoil
I lost my wife and kid/
And these meds forbid me
Of ever having custody reinstated/
But still you insisted that
My actions and decisions be debated/
Motherfucker
Before you point a finger,
Point it in the mirror/
Fly Overseas and live our terror/
Stare fear in the eye and
Try to see the next sun rise/
Hear the cries of an innocent mother as she kisses her child just before he dies/
Then realize it was you who pulled the trigger/
Now can you see why I say/
‘I think I need a remedy to
Free me from these memories/
Because all I can see is dead bodies and approaching enemies/?’
But through it all we still vow that we will
HOOK
We fight with our lives at stake just to be
Forgotten in an instant/
Tortured by the violence
But haunted by the silence/
