How To Decorate A Room
I don't know how to decorate my room
My muted, white, shelter
Rented lease of one year
I imagine numerous possible things
Like wide dark tapestries
Spread north-south on my left
Like many guitars hung, displayed, and played
Like ten free newspapers read, re-read,
Thoroughly, expertly,
Sprawled somehow neatly on the hardwood floor
Like the opposite door opened always, completely
Welcoming and not ignoring my stranger roommate, peter - and whoever else is here
Maybe if the window never closed and allowed inside to be outside and the overcast became something else
And the neighbors were acquaintances or rather budding friends
Playing music as much as i do and not being bothered when my voice opens
We all played a progression in D
I could solo in the B section
A dominant
D, home
But we don't play together
I can't find out who they are
My muted, white, shelter
Rented lease of one year
I imagine numerous possible things
Like wide dark tapestries
Spread north-south on my left
Like many guitars hung, displayed, and played
Like ten free newspapers read, re-read,
Thoroughly, expertly,
Sprawled somehow neatly on the hardwood floor
Like the opposite door opened always, completely
Welcoming and not ignoring my stranger roommate, peter - and whoever else is here
Maybe if the window never closed and allowed inside to be outside and the overcast became something else
And the neighbors were acquaintances or rather budding friends
Playing music as much as i do and not being bothered when my voice opens
We all played a progression in D
I could solo in the B section
A dominant

But we don't play together
I can't find out who they are
