Hidden

My eyes are exhausted because all they do is cry,
Black tears that do not stop are making me go blind,
Each one that subsides leaves behind a mark on my face,
Each drop has a meaning from a memory left,
Whenever I look into my broken heart all I see is sadness,
A black hole of isolation and nothingness,
My broken heart remains scattered with a story in every piece,
Stained by my souls tears and pain is the beat,
The pain is unbearable that I can feel it pounding my chest,
It’s full of emotions and needs to be drained,
To empty it, death is the only way,
Where my sorrow will erase and I’ll start completely fresh,
Solitarily in the coldness suffering in vain,
I can hear the echo of my soul’s scream wanting to escape,
Empty arms is just a normal way for me to live,
Within my arms with illusions I’ll always be,
Forsaken in my darkened life it’s the only way for me,
Not because I want to but because I refuse to accept their destiny,
Fearful of the reflection the mirror will reveal to me,
It will display my true self, a portrait of confusion, rage and misery,
I can’t find a cure for the wounds to be healed,
The scars are too deep and cannot be sealed,
In the surface I make you see that everything is calm and clear,
But the eternal me is deserted in fear,
I assure you that all is fine and give you the impression that I don’t need anyone in life,
We stare eye to eye, not knowing I fooled you because you’re staring at a mask I’m hidden behind,
I’m ashamed of myself that this life has forced me to hide who I truly am,
Because of the curse I was given at birth I live the rest of my life in a sham,
Many dark secrets will remain unknown,
Many unspoken words will never be told,
Underneath my tenderness no one will ever guess what lies,
So no one will ever tell, a part of me will be hidden from the sight,
It’s for my own protection so I can feel safe,
As I continue on, one of my many masks will always cover my face,
