Memories of the Mind
There was a girl who I used to know
Whose long brown hair would glisten and glow
Her eyes would sparkle and shine
And she was free as could be
Like a bird in the sky
But she was robbed of her soul
Her eyes would no longer glisten and glow
Her mind turned dark from the memories he left
And she lived in fear of her next breath
But her fears became others game
To laugh and watch her jump away
The darkness spread and she no longer knew
what happiness was
All that was left was fear
She began to think why me
What happened to who I was supposed to be
I hope that one day she'll realize it wasn't her fault
And I'll be able to escape the memories of my mind
