Am I your favorite writer ?
I demand simplicity in your answer,
no intricate web of deceit,
no grand den of lies.
But then you only said,
"Yes."

I like this a lot. I like the ambiguity it introduces with first line. The narrator gets their simple answer, but it is not clear to the reader whether the narrator is satisfied. Was the 'yes' enough to convince them that the web's and dens would not have followed had the request not been made with the 'simple' requirement? I sense an internal dilemma here.
Then again, perhaps I'm only interjecting my own misgivings into the piece. Oh, well. You get from art what you bring to it. Thanks for the write. It was a pleasure to read.

You see beyond surfaces. Every form we interact with is but a representation of a world beneath.
Everything you said was spot on. And the humility you displayed by the soft show of doubt on your take on this is nothing short of majestic. (You clearly are well versed in the art of poetry)
One of the best comments I've ever received
By the way, I dare say the narrator is far from satisfied. Perhaps he was waiting for those webs and dens that never showed up and perhaps the simplicity of the answer created even deeper and darker webs and dens...

[Going off the previous comment and response as a guide]
Sometimes we truly desire more than that which we ask
in hopes of receiving it. I wanted to note the distance of form
between lines on this - almost reflective of hesitation in both
request and response. Then the space at the end...

Indeed we do. The narrator would agree.
And you should know your observation on the line spacings flatter. It was not planned for effect. I rarely bother with such details because they go unnoticed;
Unless of course eyes like yours note them...

You just had to bless me with an answer, didn't you?
Now the cold engine is kickstarted.
Perhaps the lucky one you write for had not the priviledge to read your writes.
And I think comments on DU are excessively sugar coated sometimes And sugar causes diabetes. They mean little, really.
love and hugs, flower. It needs no saying, you are one of mine.
