Lifetime in Seconds
glitters of a wedding
not hers but a niece
but where could she be
smiles sparkled false
dull eyes looking through
forests in the ocean
may I have this dance
she looked up into his eyes
brown depths framed lashes
she drowned in the iris
burning deep into her retinas
and she slow danced in his arms
they kissed deeply inhaling essence
of their own existence together
waltzing through the axis of worlds
arms tight around each other
creating hues of rainbow pulsing
with their hearts beating in rhythm
their union in subliminal ecstasy
he seeding her willing furrows
as eagles in flight mating in eyrie
and satin sheets in disarray
thirst and hunger satiated
in every notch the tide drew
they had tall sons reaped in the wind
beautiful daughters grown of the earth
father of the groom will now dance
with the bride
the MC said
he smiled his apology
before she could say yes
she nodded and looked away
they never danced they never would
but for a brief few seconds
they were lovers
she went home with memories
of his eyes and of one lost
to her...forever.
