The Art of Cooking
Slide your fingers in
That sweet dough
Knead it like you mean it.
Don't let it dry out
Keep it wet
Or else you can't mold with love.
Sprinkle it with sugar
But not too much
Sometimes the spice
Gives it the necessary heat
You got to have the right mixture
Know how and when to let it breathe.
Not everything has to be
In perfect symmetry
My friend, that's what makes
It interesting-- some bumps
And lumps, some raw, some fried
Finish with love, finish with pride.
That sweet dough
Knead it like you mean it.
Don't let it dry out
Keep it wet
Or else you can't mold with love.
Sprinkle it with sugar
But not too much
Sometimes the spice
Gives it the necessary heat
You got to have the right mixture
Know how and when to let it breathe.
Not everything has to be
In perfect symmetry
My friend, that's what makes
It interesting-- some bumps
And lumps, some raw, some fried
Finish with love, finish with pride.
