Oracle
She was the dark matter from which would
reveal to him as the veil was parted
the visceral star pillars of his birth
light years from where he had found her
at the edge of a galactic sea,
to succumb to her affliction,
and would, from the start, hear echoed in the
shell of his ear the Oracle of her heart.

nice job with this, Jade.

*nods towards you*
That means much to me when a reader goes into how he or she is affected by selected words and/or phrasing. A connection established between you, and I. Gratitude, Ed.

This is magical..The magic of space and time. I also felt it was more of a love connection between a star (the woman) and her lover. But ofc, this is subject to interpretation. :)

Ahh thank you, flame of the heart. I'm so glad you embrace its magic. And yes, it was hard for me to pick a category of the limited selection that DU offers, because the piece is both a love story, and a spiritual one. I think maybe the love category was more appropriate. Changing it right now. <3

I love this... I love/want/need the poet to send me into the world with something... This is sending me into the day, listening for the magic of her voice still in my head... Oracle, indeed...
Thanks

You're more than welcome - oh sorry I forgot your first name, or did I ever know? I'm honored by the way you've embraced the poem, to take it into your day.
Btw, of the poetry that's been written about me and for me, the one that meant the most said the least but what it said with so little was telling everything the writer wanted/needed to express to me. It's a haiku:
at Delphi
I ask her name

I'm so pleased the word "lyrical" came to you because over the years, many who have known and know me describe my poet's voice & work in that exact way. I thank you. whale, for your consideration and for coming by to read my offering.
