Diagnosis and Recovery

We go round this circle on a daily routine.
This circle, like all circles, shows not its beginning, neither its end
I don’t know where it began, and I don’t know where it will stop
The bitterness yielding and succumbing within the love
Presenting itself in the form of an ominous shadow
Penetrating our perfect love
This cannot go on
For I fear our perfect love will become imperfect
Yet how can love be imperfect?
What is perfect, true, unconditional love?
Imperfect love, like everything imperfect
Is a stained, second hand, inadequate version of perfection
It has the significance of a blunt knife
It has no use
This imperfect love of ours is to love ever so dearly
But the shadow of a shapeless animal remains
Lying in the subconscious
Dwelling patiently, waiting to for its cue, to be called upon
To wreak havoc, and tear our hearts apart
Thus the arguments start
The commencement of such calamity is never foreseen
It is never noticed
For we cannot estimate the disastrous duration
That this sinister beast will remain in the background
We can never imagine that our minor disagreements
Could lead to constant confrontations
Constant it remains because the light seems ambiguous
And the end, like a circle, cannot be found…

Yet imperfection is not an incurable disease
We can fight it
We can be what we once were
We can overcome our imperfect relationship
It takes trust, hope, faith to overcome it
You must, like I do, believe the future is bright
You must believe our love is true, pure and unconditional
You must believe that imperfection is nonsense, as I do
We can overcome this
I have faith in the future
No matter how grave and miserable the present may be
I know that the future is bright, I know my love is pure
It is perfect
No flaws can be found in it
Our relationship is perfect
But how can it be?
With the constant bickering and arguments, how can it be perfect?
With the deadly ominous animal roaring, feeding on our sadness
They say a person cannot be human without pain
A perfect human can face every emotion and still stay strong
They are able to control, endure, and still stand tall
This is our relationship
We’re facing our first pains
We’re being tested, to see if we can still stand tall
We know we will be together
Therefore these first pains are nothing
Whatever does not kill our relationship, makes it stronger
Our love is a child, crying because of a scraped knee
It’ll be gone soon
We’ll become stronger, our love will be immortal
It already is
Don’t lose hope, smile
The present may be dark, but the future is bright
And I will hold your hand
And take you there
