That Smile
Your smile, little lady, is a thing
With feathers that I'll cherish, if I may;
I can imagine all a smile can bring:
Contentment and good humour; I could say
It opens up new avenues; and gates
Are thrown wide open, as the guards stand back;
And celebrations follow; as the grates
Of castles in the air will burn so black,
They'll make your smiling cheeks reflect the fire:
A rosy hue that few men can resist;
I wonder if I dare now risk your ire;
For blushing cheeks like that need to be kissed;
And both your lovely eyes simply beguile:
The things you do to me, pet, with that smile!
With feathers that I'll cherish, if I may;
I can imagine all a smile can bring:
Contentment and good humour; I could say
It opens up new avenues; and gates
Are thrown wide open, as the guards stand back;
And celebrations follow; as the grates
Of castles in the air will burn so black,
They'll make your smiling cheeks reflect the fire:
A rosy hue that few men can resist;
I wonder if I dare now risk your ire;
For blushing cheeks like that need to be kissed;
And both your lovely eyes simply beguile:
The things you do to me, pet, with that smile!
