Promise V - Scorned

You’re a pig like the others, she declared
With fury in her eyes; a stinking hog;
Please stop it! Let him beg; her thoughts still scared
Her deeply, but she’d treat him like a dog:
A useless, mangy cur that she’d put down,
By cursing in disgust - he would not rise
Again; so she’d be free – oh fuck his frown -
Why could she not be rid of him? Surprise
At the resilience of his vile vein:
She should it have cut out; a careless word
Made memories of rape seem love that came
Right back in spades to haunt her, she was spurred
To blend him in the muck with her past lovers:
And purge his porcine traits – just like the others.
