... in charge ...
I have the book with the answers, guess
that makes me in charge
Saturday
she pushes too hard
elms stripped of divinity
if i fall i'll die
Sunday
they said - No - to war
they bleed our hypocrisy
death trumps conviction
Monday
shed my cold cocoon
a little girl needed hope
miss her already
Tuesday
nobody listens
creative idea I'm told
thirteen years later
Wednesday
pushed back once again
my best just not good enough
pain harvests success
Thursday
thought about quitting
soup kitchen meals would suffice
just so I could write
Friday
is it laundry day
she asked me today in class
get dry cleaning, check
that makes me in charge

Lol you were a hot mess in school I can see that ...
The piece came out of Madame Lavender's haiku your week competition ... Sunday was a day with winds whipping around as high as 40 mph, and I thought I was gonna get blown off my motorcycle, tossed just like the autumn leaves that smacked me ...
Other musings centered around work including one of my 11 year old students asking if it was "laundry day" because she didn't understand why I had on a hoodie, jeans and sneakers (I'm usually in a fitted shirt - tie - button down vest - vintage leather motorcycle jacket - the kids think I have "swag" because of it lol) ... All said the moment made for a nice laugh in class (and a mental note for me) ...
Thanks for reading, and uhm ... keep "giving" to your beau - gm must be on roller skates to keep pace with you lol

Oddly enough I had a dream a few nights back that manifested itself a bit like this poem. Then I read this and had massive de ja vu. That's how I fkn roll....
In all seriousness, this reads like a gem (I read all poems out loud when I read them, it helps me digest). Monday & Thursday are my favourites. I just love these short snippet pieces. The fact that they're observational keeps it out of the abstract, and that makes it wholly relatable and relevant.
Thank you for the read.

Monday was for my little Kaila ... she's a butterfly with the eyes of a doe, but you'd think I was speaking Latin from what she knows in class ... I'm just trying to get her to daydream less lol ...
I seriously thought of fuckn quitting ... Looked at my financial options and saw I'm eligible for a third of my pension if I left next year ... It's tempting.
Thanks for the RL add, it means a lot after a week like this past

I stand with those who think this is a reflection of a poet's diary
A very long week indeed

Thanks what I like about the Japanese poetic art forms ... their brevity. The constraints force a writer to create more with less. It was an interesting exercise trying to find the moment that most defined the day, and then write about it ...
Babbling, lol ... Not at all, I appreciate the comments.
