The City Doesn't Seem Nearly As Stressful When You're Here
Hand in hand we walk along the shore
Watching the sun rise
Painting the clouds magnificent golden hues
Gently bathing the world in silver
And as we leave that Sandy shore
You look at me and smile
And grip my hand tight
Pulling me to you
The sun sits high in the sky
As crowds bustle around us
Faceless masses
They mean nothing when you're here
So with your hand in mine
I lead the way to our favourite place to eat
And watch the sunset
We sit silently in each others presence
My arm around you
Pulling you to me
As the sun gently sinks
Painting the skies brilliant reds
I stare into your emerald eyes
As the reds give way to purples
And whisper "I love you"
You whisper back "I love you too"
Together on the hood of my car
With your head rested gently on my chest
We stare up into the night sky
The stars fall around us
Blanketing our souls in light
The moon smiles down gently
A bright white
We sit up together
Your head on my shoulder
And reach out together
To touch the city skyline
And shape the horizon
To our liking
My arm around your waist
We walk softly through city streets
Along our skyline
The lights now drowning out our precious stars
But that's ok
I know they're still there
Just as I know that after I've walked you home
And I'm laying in my bed
That in the morning
You'll be there
to do it all again
Watching the sun rise
Painting the clouds magnificent golden hues
Gently bathing the world in silver
And as we leave that Sandy shore
You look at me and smile
And grip my hand tight
Pulling me to you
The sun sits high in the sky
As crowds bustle around us
Faceless masses
They mean nothing when you're here
So with your hand in mine
I lead the way to our favourite place to eat
And watch the sunset
We sit silently in each others presence
My arm around you
Pulling you to me
As the sun gently sinks
Painting the skies brilliant reds
I stare into your emerald eyes
As the reds give way to purples
And whisper "I love you"
You whisper back "I love you too"
Together on the hood of my car
With your head rested gently on my chest
We stare up into the night sky
The stars fall around us
Blanketing our souls in light
The moon smiles down gently
A bright white
We sit up together
Your head on my shoulder
And reach out together

The lights now drowning out our precious stars
But that's ok
I know they're still there
Just as I know that after I've walked you home
And I'm laying in my bed
That in the morning
You'll be there
to do it all again
