it was a critical time...
I used to really like
Grimms' fairy tales,
which she thought was
childish, but I'm fairly
sure they were German
she said she thought
I ought to read something
a little more grown up -
I said well to be fair they're
pretty old now
she reckons that my
intellectual growth has been
stunted, but then she blames
everything on smoking
I tried to impress her by
getting hold of a contemporary
novel, but it didn't work -
well anyway not as far as I was
concerned, the plot was awful...

more mental meanderings from your prolific pen. They really do make me think you know, they are inspirational to me - the last one got me writing a poem about trying it own with a supermarket assistant and this one has me getting annoyed at people that blame everything on smoking and / or the Jews. - working title : 'Smokin the Jews'
I don't think you realise how inspirational you are - keep it up :-)

I'd say Grimms' fairy tales are better to be read by adults since they are twisted and cruel.
But there's always an aspect of moral to be learned.
You could tell her that, greetings from Miss Chi :-)

I must admit
I thought of
you as I was
writing it..!
I thought, "I
wonder if Miss
Chi would
accompany me
on the piano..:)"
You're right, of
course, they are
pretty scary, and
yet unforgettable...

good stuff man
your humour and word play are very like Tim Vines and Milton Jones. you should be on the stage
nothing constructive to say here, you're beyond my type of offerings
fair play

ta, mate
my wife once suggested I
do stand up, but I said I'd
never remember my lines -
she said oh that's alright,
neither would anyone else...

You have that dry sense of humor I love. I picked it up when I lived over there, but learned quickly when we jumped the pond it mostly went over an American's head, or worse, pissed them off. I had to reel it in. Glad it's still alive and kicking over there.

I suppose I'm condemned to
a rather limited audience, then...
luckily my poems outdo them
in that regard..:)
