The Walk
Cool and crisp was the night,
I first held you tight.
So warm your lips,
so short the night.
Darkness broken only
by a half hidden moon.
Just enough light in your eyes
to see you'd be mine soon.
The warm tender touch
of your hand as we walked,
the secrets revealed to one
and other as we talked.
Telling you my every
thought, dream and fear;
with total honesty,
To you feeling so near.
Seemed as if I had known
you my whole life long,
On that night I knew to
you my heart belonged.
That first night, till early light;
was the beginning of a walk
that continues still.....
Tonight.
I first held you tight.
So warm your lips,
so short the night.
Darkness broken only
by a half hidden moon.
Just enough light in your eyes
to see you'd be mine soon.
The warm tender touch
of your hand as we walked,
the secrets revealed to one
and other as we talked.
Telling you my every
thought, dream and fear;
with total honesty,
To you feeling so near.
Seemed as if I had known
you my whole life long,
On that night I knew to
you my heart belonged.
That first night, till early light;
was the beginning of a walk
that continues still.....
Tonight.

So good to hear from you my friend.
I hope you are well. Have missed your
ink. I am so happy you found the time to give this a read. I have had it a while; written during happier times.

Taryn,
You are correct about how things
can change, I wrote this about 4 months ago and now it feels like a distant memory. Still together...but
not like the poem. Sometimes wish the pen could freeze time. But instead acts as a time machine bringing us back to happier days. Thanks for your always thoughtful comments; loves and hugs sent where ever you are.

Re. The Walk
Nothing really compares to the security and comfort of having that special someone hold your hand and walk with you.
This was a joy to read Keith! I felt the love, simply beautiful.....

Ms Rain,
It is usually the small tender moments that we share, that remain
so vivid. Because when you are apart for that person, you see them and are reminded of them in the smallest things. Nothing compares to the
feeling of being loved.
