love  junk

***

what your love
is like {for me}

a retreat from the world

world war 2
three dresses and
two pair of silk stockings

your yourness
a rogue cloud
beneath my skirt

there, a dead baby bird
smashed against the curb
I point and cry
you call me silly
I say "you're just a boy,
you wouldn't understand".

weakness calls you to crush
weakness calls me to learn magic
to learn to kneel in my inevitable errors
[like loving you]

to adopt the song of an orphaned sub
with an itch for the burn [learned long ago]
misled by pain covered with a million
small kisses
lost stars

you love

let
me
go.
