Still dizzy
Soaking in adrenalin and
Shock…not shock.
We always know these things,
Don’t we? Inside the darker parts
We feel the urgent tugs
That something is amiss,
Something unsettles the soul.
When you were away
I could feel the awkward doubts
Spilling in like a riptide
Drowning, suffocating the good feelings
And the luminous pearls of hope
That were never quite strong enough
And then you would come around again...
Maybe, I was overthinking
Maybe I needed time
To gather my forces together
Virginia underneath
Virginia fury
Un-burrowing out of the
Trenches
Searching again for the
Warmth on my face.
Soaking in adrenalin and
Shock…not shock.
We always know these things,
Don’t we? Inside the darker parts
We feel the urgent tugs
That something is amiss,
Something unsettles the soul.
When you were away
I could feel the awkward doubts
Spilling in like a riptide
Drowning, suffocating the good feelings
And the luminous pearls of hope
That were never quite strong enough
And then you would come around again...
Maybe, I was overthinking
Maybe I needed time
To gather my forces together
Virginia underneath
Virginia fury
Un-burrowing out of the
Trenches
Searching again for the
Warmth on my face.
