A Cast Of Characters
The laborer...
The kids...
The next door neighbor, with the white picket fence
The saber rattling enabler, of the favored Prince of Peace
...Essentially, all of them, intrinsically me...
The nameless, who's claim to fame is, to remain anonymous
Confessing, and addressing some esoteric need
The cursed fool, composed full of wise man blessings
Inflected in high pitched squelching
Followed by muffled screams, and suppressed yelling
From up high in the attic, to downstairs in the basement
Dwells my replacements
Overly eager, yet patiently in line
Tired-of-being-Tired, while completely energized
One likes fire...Another, likes knives
One hides in the corner of my honeycomb hive, giving orders
Arguing over borders, and who's possessing my time
The Prophet? He reads the signs...
He sees the comets that fall from the sky
...And warns us
Through extortion, claiming everything is fine
Lies the Truth, and..."We're far from it"
Confides the dirty old man, who's too damn uncouth...Amused, yet despondent
Confused, though, refreshingly honest
Wearing no undergarments, crammed awkwardly, in my black 3-piece suit
Still remarkably charming, obnoxious, and disarmingly cute
For deep down in my roots, sprouts forth all these branches...Offshoots, and fair chances
iPlatoon, with even more troops advancing
Forever consumed, with just enough room
For my own cast of characters...
