Somebody's Baby
The moment I first saw you there,
Drawn by beauty beyond compare
To something more stirring within,
I knew tonight you'd be my sin.
Yes, somebody's baby before,
Oh you were meant for so much more.
With scarred hands trembling at first touch,
My God, I have missed this so much.
In shadow shared, your neck I kiss.
Soft fingertips, out of practice,
'Cross your skin glide—feel all untold...
All his neglect could not unfold
In palms cradled, eyes closed, breath held,
As passions of mind and soul meld;
My fingers stroke, bring that first purr...
Everything else fades to a blur.
Oh you give as good as you get,
Like no love I have ever met;
With angel's grace, with devil's lure,
And the need born of it so pure.
My will, your voice, you understand
The deft magick of a man's hands.
As touch for touch—as song for song
We make such sweet love all night long.
Your cries echoing through the night,
Till window glows with dawn's first light—
Till, as sweat-drenched, granting release,
I find myself awash in peace.
Fingertips raw...played till they bled,
The pain never felt in my head...
Just joy over lost dreams refound
In a guitar's soul-healing sound.
