A Wasted Life
I watch from my window
I know what they're doing
Some things you'll just never forget
Some things you just know
I spent an eternity
Standing on corners
With the other satisfied customers
Faces grey and anxious
Urgent pay phone conversations
Sancho's corner
Waiting and waitng and waiting
Running and running and running
Up the stairs of my five flight walk-up
My jail cell
To stuff my whole life into a syringe a stem
For one small fleeting moment of pleasure
A lifetime ago
Right behind my back
Flashbacks
That make me count to ten
And finish getting ready for work
I know what they're doing
Some things you'll just never forget
Some things you just know
I spent an eternity
Standing on corners
With the other satisfied customers
Faces grey and anxious
Urgent pay phone conversations
Sancho's corner
Waiting and waitng and waiting
Running and running and running
Up the stairs of my five flight walk-up
My jail cell
To stuff my whole life into a syringe a stem
For one small fleeting moment of pleasure
A lifetime ago
Right behind my back
Flashbacks
That make me count to ten
And finish getting ready for work
