the measuring rod is placed
where he has demanded

candles fill the room, breathe
an unnameable scent from forever

she skims his bed, shimmering
and glistening from the slow discipline

he meted out earlier, she becomes

tangled in ties and the longest
pearl necklace, her face is moist,

she moans, murmurs his name the
sound of her soft voice opens his heart

his lips continue to navigate her warm
body, lingering on the tenderest points

does she breathe?
he puts his ear to her heart

beneath him, entering his

private horizon, he imagines she
is clay and he a famous sculptor

Rhone dips in and out of sanity,
broken by her submissiveness.
