I Don't Learn

Sometimes It's easy to forget how far I've come
Sometimes I take it all for granted
Well that's my mistake
But how could I dare forget the place I came from
With all that I've preached and ranted

When did a crowded scheduled first overrule a friend
Working too hard to play or rest

Sometimes I get angry over things I can't control
Sometimes I take it out on you

Whatever happened to" it's okay" and "go with the roll"
I hoped you would know what to do

Sometimes things happen and I just don't learn
Sometimes the past repeats its self
The same old mistakes
I thought in life there was experience you earn
Knowledge like trophies on a shelf
But no, just mistakes
