Oxygen
I drown in the river that is my emotions
I gasp for breath as the current carries me away
It never ceases
I constantly move forward
My feet are cut from the rocks
My self-worth leaking out with each drop of blood
I decide to sacrifice sanity for oxygen
so the river dries up into a rocky bed
I am free
I wander along the river floor, free from the water that once drowned me
I feel no pain
Aquatic creatures beg me to bring the water back, but their words don’t penetrate
Dehydration blocks the noise
I lie back and allow the blackness to slowly seep in and engulf me
Jutting from my body, in a beautifully disgusting fashion
My bones become one with the earth
I gasp for breath as the current carries me away
It never ceases
I constantly move forward
My feet are cut from the rocks
My self-worth leaking out with each drop of blood
I decide to sacrifice sanity for oxygen
so the river dries up into a rocky bed
I am free
I wander along the river floor, free from the water that once drowned me
I feel no pain
Aquatic creatures beg me to bring the water back, but their words don’t penetrate
Dehydration blocks the noise
I lie back and allow the blackness to slowly seep in and engulf me
Jutting from my body, in a beautifully disgusting fashion
My bones become one with the earth
