Guide My Footsteps

She wanders clothed only by the sun,

The passing of seasons keeps her fair and young,

"An unholy beast of the wilds" the ignorant condescend,

But their words fall like the snow of winter,

Just wait till spring for her to rise again,

Deemed by her mother as the long-lost child,

For she abandoned her worldly chains and returned to the wilds,

When Iron Hunters invade to pillage and plunder,

She shows them the world which they've torn asunder,

For the Iron Colossus demands constant tribute,

Parading monuments made of our mother's bones,

Like a common prostitute,

Why create a false god and trade the earth for gold,

When soaring treetops and thunderous waterfalls will always be our home,

Show me how gardens grow from your footprints,

Guide my eyes to the kingdoms in the clouds,

Prepare my body for the river's icy shock,

Plunge me into the depths of the forest,

Replace my gemstone crown with ivory horns,

My harsh braying voice with a jubilant canter,

She has shown me that being a king means nothing,

When all we need is our mother queen,

No longer will I desire to shape the earth,

Let her shape me.
