Stepping Out into the Light
Out
on the balcony,
there
as is
for the world
to see,
this is how
we are
set free.
Tied without
our inner knots,
undeterred
by what ought naughts,
ours to do
as please
our hearts,
deepest of
the human arts.
Let be told
that being bold
and weighing
heavy chains,
the ones that others
carry on with
only to remain
bound and gagged
and strung
uptight
are truly bars
and locks.
For when we dare
to bare aware
we bind
what
truly mocks.
And when we
promenade
our souls
out in
the open air,
we tell the world
to watch our flame;
our truth
is burning there.
