A Dark Night's Prayer
I've heard it said in passing;
"The night is darkest before the dawn"
I've no escape from this despair,
It seems the morn' will never come
Coldness is so dark and empty...
Here's my Spirit's dwelling place,
While every ounce of pain I feel
is shown across my face.
My sanity, deafened by silence!
Intrusive thoughts I can not bear.
My soul cries out in anguish,
but I know no one is there...
I pray Release will find me,
and take this suffering away.
I lay sleepless as the hours pass,
Must I endure another day?
"The night is darkest before the dawn"
I've no escape from this despair,
It seems the morn' will never come
Coldness is so dark and empty...
Here's my Spirit's dwelling place,
While every ounce of pain I feel
is shown across my face.
My sanity, deafened by silence!
Intrusive thoughts I can not bear.
My soul cries out in anguish,
but I know no one is there...
I pray Release will find me,
and take this suffering away.
I lay sleepless as the hours pass,
Must I endure another day?
