The Coffee Shoppe

We take a little walk,
just some time to talk.
Going to our favored spot,
the local coffee shoppe.

Just two lonely hearts,
sharing in despair.
Needing someone to listen;
needing someone to care.

Just some friendly ear,
someone to be near.
Talking for hours, sharing
word's healing power.

Careful not fall, to a
lonely heart's call.
Trying to be just a friend,
someone to confide in.

Listening to all that's missing,
mind wanders; to thoughts
of kissing.
Finding comfort in your gaze,
as being held by you for days.

For I am lonely too.
spilling my sorrows before you.
In the hope of being consoled;
just needing someone to hold.

Looking for some sign,
of what you have in mind.
No longer sadness do I hear,
it seems to have disappeared.
Sweet smile on your face,
no tears left to trace.

You reach and touch my hand,
it's more than I can stand
The feel of your soft touch,
I needed that so much.

A signal or a sign,
I can't make up my mind.
But myself I soon remind....
this is not dating time.
