Pages of Your Lips
Despite my library;
My collected works;
My garden of lexical lyrics;
I turn to my favorite book.
It is rare and classic.
Although I have traced its pages many times,
Each passing turn
It is as new and profound as any sacred text.
Sitting there
Vertically
Waiting to be opened;
To be read.
As I caress its binding
And take in its unique aroma
Feeling the edges of the pages,
The anticipation of what it beholds inside.
I nudge towards the middle
Revealing those silky words I long to see
And gaze at them with intoxication
Running my fingertips over the letters
Feeling the texture of the slightly raised ink.
With delicate pronunciation
I silently mouth the words
As I read to myself
The secrets that she allows him to know.

They say the blind lose one and gain a sixth sense. And so yes, their other senses are heightened. What would sex be like under those circumstances? I'm not willing to find out. I cherish my vision too much. Hehe thank you Taryn for your lively comment.

I love books but, given the choice, I'd rather read a woman, preferably not a best seller. "The secrets that she allows him to know." Elusive but worth it, isn't she? Can't wait for the next chapter. Excellent work DPW.

I would rather read a woman as well. Which I hope that was expressed here. Lol. I did notice the last line change person. Should read "me" and not "him". But for now it stays.

There's a saying about being "An Open Book". . .Erotically enticing without the. . .ahem. . .vulgarity makes this poem a stellar piece. . .Great imagery, Sir DrunkenPlay, and a vivid write. . .To treat somewhere you love, you admire, or just fancy in the essence of a book would definitely win my heart. . .xoxo, Devlin;)

Ahh. Now I know the way to your heart my dear. And maybe your cherished book as well. ;) I am glad you appreciate the implied eroticism.

Echo Devlin DC. Reminds me of Agatha Christie's suggestion a woman should marry an archaeologist because he would still find her interesting as she grows older (this novelist actually married an archaeologist herself!)

I feel like I heard that before. But regardless. It's a funny statement. Thank you for the read and comment.

When firstly reading this, I barely made thru! Oh do chuckle if pleased, but this is one piece I would love to brail more of or into. It nature capturing, it feels to be merely written by a poetic deity. Love it utterly

Our books are our most intimate chambers, and the reading time, the most private. I used to think only freakazoids liked being read to, until I realized, I was wrong. It's just our kind.

I have found reading to a female in bed to be one of the most intimate and erotic acts.
