Paper Dolls

Am I a "Mexican or a Mexican't?"
Salma Hayek would be delighted to know
Coaxing an answer with her knife
While Eva Green gazes from Sin City
Whispering "I've been especially bad"
Her polished red lips and nails
Luxurious breasts in silhouette
And eyes reflecting her name
While Natalie Portman, triumphant black swan
(And Best Actress, no less)
Revels in "an intoxicating masterpiece"
While Uma Thurman prefers pulp fiction
Ankles crossed, cleavage displayed
Over smokes and a 45
While Halle Berry swears I'm "not alone"
The words emerging in scars on her forearm
And really not any noticeable comfort
Their faces ripple in response to the ceiling fan
Just paper dolls on seven walls
Their advice and various seductions contained in posters
Fantasy worlds, Hollywood girls
Conceding "There's nothing like the real thing."
