Humanity
"Humanity, you never had it to begin with" Charles Bukowski
They started fighting
a noble fight
assembled the citizens
told 'em
this thing
that thing
and the next
Made 'em join
social media groups
Stuck stickers on their cars
Fists in the air
in protest
Solidarity
I suppose
They aimed sights at an enemy
dared the law
Put wagers on police
rode
through streets chanting
"we will"
In solidarity
I suppose
Sold the notion
of a common enemy
of choice
used the words "freedom"
and "Liberty"
in single sentences
Time travelled well
They learned to oppress
in the process
put
their following
in chains
Removed
their choice
Told them
when, how, what
Began their fight
over
this time
with in
themselves
Solidarity
I suppose
