Greedy Souls
so many let the flowers wilt away
gives fresh raindrop kisses to strangers
instead of luving a true soul
can't share what lives within their heart
without shedding selfishness
they walk thru life bleeding
but not their own blood
need far more than we ever will
always dawning a devils smile
cause in reality real luv is turned away
chasing false empty dreams
in hearts where luv doesn't exist
giving a piece to everyone
but gives all to none
takes a beautiful seed
leaves it to rot
on a deselect sidewalk alone
as the flowers life drains out
never to seed again
being alone surrounded by greedy souls

Oh she who has blessed us with wonderful descriptions of love and natural beauty, brings us other parts and this is also of nature but not at it's finest. It takes insight to define as you have, good job.

instead of luving a true soul" <--- I think the truth of what the inherent qualities of love itself actually are have been lost through the generations. Even when most find a luving soul, they have no way of knowing how to return what they are receiving.
"they walk thru life bleeding
but not their own blood" <-- powerful line, and chilling in its truthfulness.
"giving a piece to everyone
but gives all to none " <--- paints the picture fully there, the lust for love turning them insatiable... reaching for it everywhere, not knowing they keep themselves from finding it.
Damn good poem here... cuts deep. Very much enjoyed.

Indeed the greedy are always bleeding someone else's blood, careful to never spill a drop of their own. Like mosquitos that sneak up from behind to drain every ounce while robbing you blind! We can only pray there is a Hell... jj

Beautiful observation about selfishness Flower. I'm sure you're anything but. Your work has shown nothing but sweetness and generosity, with some playfulness and eroticism here and there. Just makes me greedy to read more.
