The elder god stirring
Beneath the waves
Crashing
Thrashing
Beyond the grave
Godless, nameless
Devil's caress
Eyes of fire
Burn with desire
For human flesh
"Ia! Ia! Cthulhu Fhtagn!
Ia! Ia! Cthulhu Fhtagn!"
The great beast
Will come to feast
So, beware the song
He rests atop your bones
The tidal malice
What we bear to witness
The hungry maw
Gnawing
Clawing
Answer the call
Terror, horror
Wayward sailors
Cut the wire
Unholy sire
Consuming flesh
"Ia! Ia! Cthulhu Fhtagn!
Ia! Ia! Cthulhu Fhtagn!"
The great beast
Will come to feast
So, beware the song

Churning at the heart of the earth
Slumbering in throes of rebirth
Devilment and sacraments
Communion and nourishment

Thank you for the high praise. And, hey, you can still mosh. I few years ago my wife and I went to see Amon Amarth and at the beginning of the show we got separated. So I spent the first half looking for her, fighting my way through moshpits I was sure she was struggling with. But when I finally found her she was whupping some dude's ass. Being able to mosh is just a state of mind.

I love the dark, Lovecraftian vibe this poem has going on all throughout! H.P. Lovecraft is one of my all-time absolute favorite horror authors, and this poem is an incredible tribute to his Cthulhu Mythos tales. Epic stuff! And what a perfect illustration you’ve given it too… really adds to the presentation. When I read this poem’s title “NOT DEAD BUT DREAMING” I totally got the Cthulhu reference and knew instantly that I was going to enjoy giving it a read. Super happy I did! You’ve been on a roll lately with awesome, epic poems my friend. Keep up the masterful writing. :D
