Did It To Yourself

Didn’t think I would find out did ya?
All the time I had a private eye taking pictures

Caught you with the guy in all different angles
If it weren’t for the prison you would be strangled

Left somewhere, both of yall dangling
From a tree, but you see, I had to be

A bit more creative and all the more humble
Not letting my emotions & anger cause me to fumble

A ball that you threw right into my lap
Truthfully, you were the only woman I wanted to slap

As I look at these photographs of my loving spouse
Appalled that she had the nerve to bring it to our house

In the living room all on the floor, and there is more
Had the nerve to sex him in our kitchen
The private eye had the camera clicking

The last set of photos is what really hit me in the head
Did you really have to sex the dude on our bed?

Now you are home with me humming and cooking
Trying to flatter me with sweet words, “Hey there good
looking”

I smile as I am none the wiser
You bring me a beer, a cheap ass Budweiser

I pretend that all is well on the home front
You sit on my waist cowgirl style and sex me like you think
I want

I fake pleasure because you no longer arouse me
Hoping that you hurry up because the sex is lousy

Baby did you enjoy that? You ask
I nod yes as I playfully smack that ass

You have not a clue that I am about to disappear
I tell you “I love you” as I shed a tear

In the morning you leave and I make my escape
I leave you the photos on a table by the fire place

A prenuptial agreement that I leave you penniless
You did it to yourself, showing our love was meaningless

Off to another state, I travel on the road
Relieved  and exonerated without the heave load

When you get home and stick the key in the lock
You step into the crib look uncertain and shocked

The house is quiet and completely empty
Now you realize how fate could tempt me

To have been in a total murderous rage
But I walked away & left you to your scandalous ways

As you opened up the envelope and what was inside
You fell to the carpet and for hours you cried

Knowing that you could fault no one else
You lost a good man and face it, you did it to
yourself
