Exactly. I like tanka as well. Compact styles/forms force you to choose words very carefully. A very fun challenge. You can't just go willy nilly on the page.

I'll have to explore tanka...thanks for the mention. I am even known to write in Shakespearean sonnet style when I get thew urge and that's a challenge as well.

Thank you so much Katja! I love writing in haiku form. That one can express deep and intimate ideas, straight from the soul, in a mere 17 syllables is a beautiful thing.
