Little Lessons
When it comes down to the wire
you see what really matters and what doesn't.
When it seems like all else is failing
somehow you manage to pick back up the pieces,
fitting them better than before.
When someone you love more than life itself
leaves you to defend on your own you see what's important.
And what's not.
It makes the little things seem so insignifigant.
When something like that happens to you,
it changes the way you look at life.
Until then you've never known what pain felt like.
Or what it means to have someone
to listen to your tears and hear you
when you can't speak.
There are things in life that you can't understand
until it's first hand, but you can appreciate it.
you see what really matters and what doesn't.
