Clearing heads
So tell me
on the lonely road
that nobody walks
the whispers of leaves
as they quietly scraped
the sum of their lives
onto the Tarmac
and waited for the shadow
of wayward footfalls
was that price of silence too much to bare?
was there solace along that path
or did the sound of rotting mulch
underfoot
become just another echo?

as they quietly scraped
the sum of their lives
onto the Tarmac
and waited for the shadow
of wayward footfalls
was that price of silence too much to bare?

become just another echo?
