These Words For You
They say Him, He who existed before time
created the universes, planets & starry night
6,000 yrs ago & seven days the world was made
then why does it take over a million light years
to feel the warmth and radiance of the sun rays
They say women are magical and extraordinary
the givers of life and love worthy of all praise
yet some are genitally mutilated, brutally raped
battered and abused, some kept as sex slaves
others are murdered & buried in shallow graves
They say I believe the children are the future
if this were true then why are some not birthed
reared and nurtured, clothed, schooled or fed
many sleep in gutters and alleys, left for dead
They say you should see the good in people
but I believe you should see the truth in people
men frightened yet fearless, clamoring strength
women are fragile possessing a callous libido
They say that we must obey, obey whom I say
I know not tyranny, tyrants trample beneath me
from the dawn of time, the first step taken upright
man has been dealt a wicked blow yet we thrive
They say you should not be different, just try to fit in
hide your uniqueness, assimilate your individualism
you should be stronger than me says Amy Winehouse
I see them cowering, asking what are we, men or mice
Will you still love me tomorrow, if I dare to think differently
they say love is blind, so I pen these words for you
of mice and men, man or mouse, I pen these words for you
in tears I awake alone, yet still I pen these words for you
