Its Love Actually
A soulmate trapped
in a circle of waiting
an empty fist
just keep holding on
promises made on thin air
sieves without end
No words spoken
yet strong in its keeping
vice like grip
on the dying vine
never letting go
until fire turns to ember
its love actually
the fierce undying kind
through thick and thin
and water run to forever
But you keep on Running
from what may come
time for changes
stop...wait.

Ben should have stuck around. I hope you find "the fierce undying type" if you haven't already. Fine work!

Anyone who could not love one such as you, dear Grace, is a foolish fellow indeed! Although I know you only wrote this for that competition, naturally. ;)
I like to think that, when love is true, it is always of the fierce and undying type... since anything less than true love would not be fiery, passionate, or everlasting. Sadly, sometimes we can come close and believe a love to be of that sort only to be disappointed... and this poem is an excellent expression of that truth. Your poetry is as great and filled with feeling, emotion, and real heart as ever, Grace! I always love your works for that. :)

This one hits home for me for I can relate to Mister Ben.
Maybe there will come a time when I'm loved in a way where I no longer feel the need to run. Thank you for this great read!
