Trim the candle's wick.
Against the spiralling darkness
become a lamp's haloing glow.
Light the candle quick,
for when even night is starless,
it will make a golden light grow.
Let firelight flick
for the dark is farthest,
longing after cock crow;
so keep the light lit
for the guiding dark is heartless.

it's one of those poems
where I like both the
looseness and the
structure of it, the line and
the rhyme, so to speak..:)

Thanks Dartford - that's cool that you felt the structure - I wasn't sure anyone would - I was experimenting with Fibonacci, duality and a 3 part invention

:) thought you'd see this :)
Chanting it out loud may well portal you to another dimension- but one things for sure if you repeat it out loud long enough it will blow or fuse a synapse or two

Spiraling into the depths of Darkness, sometimes we all need to hold onto what little light we can carry....

Much appreciated thoughts Enchanted One - the unknown is our guide - where the only light to see by is the one we carry :)

The battle between light and darkness is eternal. And though the candle may keep the dark at bay, the dark surrounds and waits not too far away...

This is the exact kind of thing that inspires me to learn more of this wonderful craft. Many of you have these pictured words to an art form. Very nice

Sunk in anti-darkness, this is! Love the portent of "what might come" without sweet flame.
Warm emotion plied within your words, hun!
enjoyed!
