Carry me away
to a place far away
from the pain
For I tremble inside
All I know is pain
Life doesn't exist
As the days pass
I lose myself more
Nothing can save me

Very strong poem, filled with much yearning and longing for something better, some cessation of pain and sorrow. Feelings I myself have felt in the past, and wrote of as well. It is ironic in a way, this poem... since recently I wrote a poem I called "Upon Night's Seas" in which I wrote the following lines:
"I prepare a place upon the evening’s waters,
Where those kindred to myself may be free.
I was the first of night’s chosen daughters…
The light in the shadow, so that all may see!"
So, in a way, my poem could almost be seen as an answer to the longing expressed in your poem. Almost like through my poem, you can hear the words: "Fear not! Not all need be in life, painful or sorrowful... here is light, here is hope, for those who wish to believe upon it." So never give up in life, dear elf (I wish I knew your name, but methinks I will call you simply "elf" for the time being)... though darkness is strong, there can be light hidden within sometimes, just within our grasp but beyond our sight.
