A Bleeding Heart
As you walk away
My heart is breaking open
It's bleeding onto the ground
An open bleeding heart
Every second it cracks more
The bleeding goes from a drip
To a trickle
I lay my heart out for you
But you let it shatter
Right in front of me
You leave me laying,
Dying on the floor
Just let my life slip away
I thought you loved me
Now I know that it was all a lie

A very sad, but extremely passionate, poem filled with equal measures of yearning, despair, and even a bit of anger tinged throughout. It is a poem about heartbreak, so all of those feelings and emotions are very much part of it... and it is expertly penned, filled with vibrant and descriptive imagery, and no small amount of pure creativity. In short, it is brilliant work, however dark the subject matter! :)
