Your last Serenade
I held my tongue
Because I felt it was right
I kept my mouth shut
Biting my bloody lips tight
I knew it was tough
We could have been something right
But we were to young
Maybe one day we'll try to align
But like all paths that cross
There's an end and a divide
Like a man to the lost
And a damsel in disguise
I nailed myself to a cross
For my own sins I have died
Like a strong woman lost
You found yourself a great life
Free and young at what cost?
I lost the love of my wife
Your probably angry but loved
With the love of your life
I had so much to say, so much to comment, and so many truths
I asked you if maybe you would like an answer or two
You asked me one question, one I wasn't hoping you'd choose
But its over now, and even then I couldn't let out the truth
From me i now choose
This ones for you
Your last serenade
Like a fine wine we've aged
Goodbye my bug
I'm really sorry once again
Hope life isn't rough
To our friendship....the end
Because I felt it was right
I kept my mouth shut
Biting my bloody lips tight
I knew it was tough
We could have been something right
But we were to young
Maybe one day we'll try to align
But like all paths that cross
There's an end and a divide
Like a man to the lost
And a damsel in disguise
I nailed myself to a cross
For my own sins I have died
Like a strong woman lost
You found yourself a great life
Free and young at what cost?
