Dawn Before Dusk
Dawn before dusk,
Beginning before end
Have to get motivated
Before you can begin
Acceptance of one's self
Can you love me enough
To overcome my crazy
Or have I called your bluff
Unexpected comments
Words of utter truth
Constant stream of chatter
Welcome to my booth
Cannot be happy all the time
Yet I hide it with a smile
Perky flirty comeback
Can fool one for a while
Emotions turned on full
Spilled all over the floor
I always share all with you
No lies come through my door
I guess that is my drawback
My largest fatal flaw
When I gave my heart to you
I gave the biggest piece of all
I don't regret a second
I wouldn't change a thing
Because my kids have given me
A different song to sing
I know I bug you all the time
But you're in my every thought
You mean everything in life to me
I think you're everything I've sought
But if my feelings for you
Are too much for you to handle
Then I will back off quietly
Unashamed I took this gamble
Beginning before end
Have to get motivated
Before you can begin
Acceptance of one's self
Can you love me enough
To overcome my crazy
Or have I called your bluff
