-death wish
for her, love is a death wish;
she loves to watch the candles burn
afraid it will last too long
because she may feel something
long dead…

sounds like she pushes away the hand that wants to help her. hard to love her, & hard not to, I guess...

if you hadn't texted this to me this mornin, i woulda missed it & not for the reasons included in said text thank you muchly mister "you're so predictable, slave girl" lol...
... it's lovely, Edward. i adore the macabre beauty here, the tints of disdain in the flames, promises encased in wax & definitely the seer of gypsy wings
*
do i get to blow out the candles now & make a wish [?]

Well, it's just like your stubborn ass to prove me wrong and be unpredictable, you are so fucking cute sometimes, Yekaterina...
Yes, little one. You may blow out the candles and have your wish...
Thanks ever so much for stopping in...

I love that Dark deep feeling of wanting but afraid that that wanting is wrong,.... therefore she resigns herself to a miserable loneliness...
Untouchable... I love it!!!!!
Darker.

the last time I felt something long dead
it was in the back of the fridge and
well past it's sell by date...now that's
a terrible metaphor for love..:)
but never mind me, your poem
highlights the fear of taking the
risk that burns within most of us,
I guess. Excellent...

Oh the burning of the candle, time burns up, yearning burns and yet who wants to get burnt? All wrapped up in a few lines, your poem does wonders.

Succinct bit of telling poetry, man!
Luv-luv the bold "echo" you've planted in all aspects of the flame. Fearing to feel is a resounding empty bell here.
(I hushed..to read this twice)
kudos poet!
take care ;)
