Flies in the heavens
Enola be thy name
Thy kingdom nuked
Those people cooked
In Hiroshima as they
were are in Nagasaki
Give survivors this day
Their daily dose
Forgive them their deformities
As we forgive ourselves
For their deformities
Lead us not into compassion

For thine is the H-bomb

Stark. The tone is perfect, a prayer to the "righteous cause" of mass destruction, forgiven by the divine right of thinking they are better than their enemy humans.
Powerful. Great write, and the video adds a lot to this. Enjoyed this, but also didn't...in the appropriate somberness of mourning humanities religious zealots consequences.

It's a brilliant concept, well executed. I particularly liked 'As we forgive ourselves for their deformities'.

you're to kind; when I was a teenager my teacher told me I was a good for nothing and would amount to nothing - told me I was born stupid and would remain stupid

Your voice is void of culpability, just as it sounds in the original prayer, more of a chant. I almost started overdubbing (eek!) This just means you captured the tone perfectly though-
"Thy kingdom nuked
Those people cooked
In Hiroshima as they

There is a wee tension in these lines but then by the time you get to "Give survivors this day / Their daily dose " ...there is almost a sigh as though to say 'regardless of aforementioned hellfire, I'm still not to blame"
Excellent somber narration for such a brutal history lesson! Well done sir =)

I hate my recorded voice and I am now even nervous doing a voice recording as I am any more performance poetry. I was trying to keep it lacking in emotion the same way they felt when they dropped the bomb and then used god to justify it

I cringe at the sound of my own recorded voice! Personally loved hearing your voice and your accent adds a real dynamic... in truth giggling a wee bit every time I hear you say 'nuked' and 'cooked' ...Maybe I shouldn't be chortling over such a serious message?! Oops.
