Sojourner
I walk again among the ancients
under trees gigantic clawing the skies
the hood of the past withdrawn
here again the druids rule
the name I bear allow me entry
the spirit within allow me to see
the blood of sacrifices against
the bark of the trees
as needed by the priestesses
to cut the leaves upon the tree
to sprinkle blessed water
upon the raging bull
sacrifice made the sickle
making deep cuts on engorged veins
the raging bull rage no more
blood to tree the spirits dance
the priestess ask of abundance
in wheat in child in husbandry
I smell the trees again
bloody trails closed once more
helm of my skirts dipped in red
among the green the quiet
the breeze blow the bird sing
the day is bright again
within the forest
I walk again.
